The New Castle Jaycees have been serving our community continuously for over 60 years.  We focus on giving young professionals an opportunity to create positive change as active citizens. We do this through leadership training, leadership opportunities and through the implementation of projects initiated by the Jaycees or partnering with other local organizations that enhance the community.

The New Castle Jaycees first formed on Monday, February 10th, 1958 at a meeting held at the Goodwill Fire Company.  The 21 charter members were:  C.M. Ross Abson, Richard M. Appleby Jr, Robert S. Appleby, Bruce E. Cracco, Wales Craven, Francis A. Di Mondi, Vincent A. Gambacorta, Henry J. Gambacorta, Bruce H. Gordon Jr, Francis L. Hewletter Jr., William C. Jordan, Andrew C. Miller Jr., Henry D. Patterson, R. James Quillen Jr., Ralph A. Thomas, John Shelton, Warren Van Arsdalen Jr., J. Robert Wright, Thomas H. Yetter.

"As young American leaders devoted to civic improvement, the members of the Junior Chamber make a fine contribution to the life of the national community.  With splendid energy and enthusiasm they help to advance the best interests of their fellow citizens across the land."

Dwight D. Eisenhower
